Come this spring it will be 10 years since I’ve returned back home to Milwaukee! Wow, where did the time go?! Just reflecting this morning (‘tis the season).
I was also thinking about the last 3 jobs I’ve had in Milwaukee and how they have come from my network (one offer even came Christmas Eve). And a lot of people don’t know this, but my last 2 jobs emerged as a result of a mutual connection and I was the leader that came to mind to interview for the position!
This is ONE reason I started Dr. Laci. com! In my role as a leader, I have continuously found myself in events or meetings in which I now have the opportunity to be a connector. So much to the point where others now just come to expect it from me and it all started with networking! This is part of the reason I created a networking action guide called, Make Money Moves! Networking is 1 of the 7 Pitfalls of Women Leaders, but you can go from the Pit to the Platform, or avoid the Pit altogether!
Being open to the wisdom and experience of others is a valued characteristic of a leader, like in this awareness walk with the Mayor; (regardless of the starting point) and vital to a person’s success. People who are willing to listen, and gain insight from another (even when you don’t always see eye to eye) spend more time doing what works the first time, rather than having to experience every mistake.
These new connections are your door to an expanded network of relationships, opportunities, partnerships, and MONEY! I want to help you create a network for the win : win. Visit the Dr. Laci. com store to secure additional resources and start building your network today.
